Often I "DOUBT" man's understanding of God:
-Liberal Christians who want to let things fall where they fall vs. Conservative Christians who are certain things are falling apart (and try to hold it together)
-Father Flynn's long fingernails and three lumps of sugar in his tea vs. Sister Aloysius' bursting light bulbs as certain evil hovers in the air
-voting "NO" on Proposition 8 vs. "YES" on Proposition 8

It's funny, the existence of God is something I've never doubted even as a child. I guess it's because of how I was raised. Even when I wasn't serving Him (and I didn't get saved until I was 28), I always knew He was there. Also I'm certain because of the evidence I've seen in my life -- things I've requested in prayer that NO ONE could have brought to pass but Him.

As the old song goes: "Yes God is real for I can feel Him in my soul."

I believe - when coincidence after coincidence help things to work out, afterall, in accordance with what must be God's plan; when I start to read the bible and come immediately upon a poignantly fitting passage, and then right away another one with the same meaning; when the baby finally stops crying just when I remember to pray; and, as my faith has matured, when I suddenly hear/feel the peaceful strength of divine presence behind the words as I am singing or reading scripture.
